Turn in to me a portfolio of what you feel is your best work (3 minimum). This may include pieces from both school and non school projects, as long as they are design related. Please create a new folder with you name on the server, and place either a PDF portfolio or a text document with your website URL.
OBJECTIVE:
To get to know you as an artist, and gauge where the class focus should be from a design standpoint.

Keyframes
Based on what we have learned in class, create a composition, or series of compositions demonstrating your ability to use multiple keyframes to create an animation. The visual style does not need to extensive (though it can be if you have the desire), but an effort should be made to make it at least pleasing to the eye.
Specifically you must demonstrate the following techniques:
- Linear keyframes (Diamonds)
- Hold keyframes (Squares)
- Easing keyframes (Arrows)
- Roving keyframes (Circles)
OBJECTIVE:
To understand what a keyframe is, and how to use it to manipulate an element's state on screen.

Study — Keyframes & Easing
Choose from one of the two video snippets I have uploaded to Canvas, and try to reproduce the effect as closely as possible, including timing, and easing. The visuals do not have to match exactly, I'm more concerned about learning what it takes to produce polished motion.
Render the finished video and upload it to canvas or post a link to your blog.
OBJECTIVE:To begin to think critically about how to apply the skills we have learned thus far to a real animation scenario, and to help me gauge how well our class demos are sinking in.

Based on what we have learned in class, create a composition, or series of compositions demonstrating your ability to use masks and mattes. Feel free to get creative.
OBJECTIVE:
To be able to use masks and mattes to create various effects.

Inspiration
Find several specific examples of inspiration that apply directly to what you plan to do for Project 1. Turn in your assignment BEFORE the beginning of class and be ready to present it and tell what aspect of the inspiration applies to what you plan to do for your project.
Examples of how it can apply:
- Project type
- Visual style
- Motion techniques
- etc.
OBJECTIVE:
To have a good general direction of where you want to head before you begin planning your animation.
